This Radioshack Twin RC Charging Unit is perfect for charging remote controlled racing car batteries. It can simultaneously charge one 7.2-volt battery pack and one 9.6-volt battery pack, and supports both Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries. It only takes 3 hours to charge a Ni-Cd battery, and only 4.5 hours for a Ni-MH battery.Other features include:Charge indicators - light when the battery packs are charging, automatically turn off when the battery packs finish charging, and flash if the battery pack fails to charge, indicating a problem with the battery (the battery is not properly connected, or needs to be replaced, for example). Optional DC operation - lets you charge batteries through a 12V DC cigarette-lighter plug socket with a 12V DC adapter (not included, but available from your local Radioshack store). Automatic charging current selection - automatically detects the battery voltage and selects the best charging current. Reverse polarity protection - protects the charger and batteries against incorrectly installed batteries.Short circuit protection - protects the charger and batteries against shorted batteries. Automatic power off - turns off the charger to prevent overcharging. Overcurrent protection - keeps the current constant.
